2026 IEEE AP-S Elections: Prof. Erricolo Elected President-Elect, Prof. Capolino and Prof. Ettorre join the Administrative Committee

The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society brings together the international community working on antennas, propagation and applied electromagnetics. Its governing body, the Administrative Committee (AdCom), includes 12 elected members in addition to the President-Elect, the President and the four most recent Past Presidents. The President-Elect is also elected directly by the Society’s members.

In the 2026 elections, Danilo Erricolo was elected President-Elect. Erricolo is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago and Director of the Andrew Electromagnetics Laboratory. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation from 2016 to 2022. Filippo Capolino and Mauro Ettorre were elected to the AdCom, together with Cristina Yepes and Takashi Tomura.

This result follows another significant milestone: one year ago, Francesco Andriulli was elected the Society’s 2026 President-Elect. For two consecutive years, the office of President-Elect has therefore gone to a member of the Italian school.

The AdCom guides the AP-S’s decisions on journals, conferences, awards and educational programs. These decisions shape the research agenda in antennas, propagation, metamaterials and computational electromagnetics. An Italian presence in these roles gives the national community a direct channel to the field’s international decision-making processes.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire SIEm community, SIEm President Alessandro Toscano expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the vote. He extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to all those elected, confident that they will carry out their roles with competence, vision and passion, further contributing to the growth of our international scientific community.
